Can an iPhone get viruses?

Hello. I recently purchased an iPhone. I haven't gotten around to putting music on the iPod part of it yet, but I want to now. I have a lot of CDs and I've just been importing them to put on my iPhone. However, I have a ton of music that I don't have on CDs. I would like to download music to put on it. My question is: If I download music from, say, Limewire, or somewhere like that, is it possible that my iPhone could get a virus like a computer? I would be putting music from Limewire onto my iTunes and then transferring them to my iPhone. If this could give me a virus, is there a way I can do this without putting my iPhone in jeopardy? For example, could I possibly put the songs I have downloaded onto a CD and then import the CD? Help please! Thanks!
