Is the McCain campaign really 'the gang that couldn't shoot straight"?

Or are they the "Cirque Du So Lame"? Honestly, have you ever seen a more poorly run campaign than this one? There was no coherent strategy. He fired his first two advisers and hired two more. And even they can't get along or decide on one strategy. His VP pick was terrible and uncooperative. Now she's gone off the reservation and is running for herself in 2012. He got beaten in the debates and even in the town hall where he was supposed to be in his 'element'. He goofed by saying that the economy wasn't his strong point right before the financial meltdown. He mentioned Joe the plumber about 200 times. His 'negative' campaign completely backfired. The only people who cared about Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright were his base - people who he already had in his back pocket. Meanwhile, he's not talking about things that really matter to people - like the economy. Could they have done much worse?
