My friend knows nothing about horses, but I really want her to understand what I'm talking about sometimes!

My mom has ridden since she was two, and she competes at a really high level. When I was 8 I was in walk/trot cles and and now I do freelance English at training level. But my best friend in the entire world knows nothing about something I grew up with. She thinks I "race" horses, and is impossible to share a victory with because she doesn't get what I did. Her parents are strict Buhddists who don't let her do much of anything except go to the mall. I invited her to hang out with me at the barn we board at, which is beautiful with a lot of walkable trails and a pool, but her parents took a long time to come around and let her. Now she's afraid to go because I made the mistake of telling her my mom's horse bit me and she thinks that all horses are horrible, attacking beasts. I am actually reconsidering bringing her out there if she is this unknowledgable! I am afraid she will get hurt. What do I do? Should I try to educate her or not? I want to share this part of my life with her!
