What is the Catholic Church's view of the subconscious? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? What about dreams?

I have just finished a book about dreams and the like, and as would be expected it talked a lot about the subconscious. I am a devote Roman Catholic, but I also believe in dreams. What does the church believe about the subconscious? Is it good or evil? Is it seen as sinful? Specifically, is delving into your subconscious considered sinful? Come to think of it, what is the Church's position on the human psyche?
